Mark Galante
Age: 34
Title: Vice President of Marketing & Distribution Personal Insurance
Company: The Hanover Insurance Group
Company location: Worcester
Residence: Shrewsbury
College: Gettysburg College and New York University’s Stern School of Business.
Career Highlights: I lead a team that builds innovative tools and programs to help our agents grow and create value for customers with high expectations. We oversee all of our product marketing efforts, and provide leadership and support for distribution strategy & sales effectiveness. Prior to my current role, I lead The Hanover’s field sales efforts in New York and New Jersey.
Community Involvement: I’ve chosen to help the Alzheimer’s Association provide support to families that need it, as well as fund research for prevention and a cure, because the diesease devastated the mind of an important hero in my life: my grandfather. This year marks our third participating in Memory Walk, and my first as member of the association’s advisory council.
Biggest professional success: Winning Hanover’s “President’s Service Award” was a terrific feeling, but seeing one of this year’s awards go to an individual that I hired was truly wonderful.
Dream job: Beyond leading a world-class company, it would be fun to be Simon Cowell for a day, right? Or Bono?
Businessperson he admires most and why: New York restaurateur Danny Meyer. He focuses on a few key things that I believe in: Before everything else, investing in your people comes first. And a unique concept or distinctive value proposition is critical. While clients and investors are obviously important, so is actively supporting the local community.
Favorite movie: Tie: The Usual Suspects and Caddyshack.
