2023 Best of Business

WBJ’s Best of Business awards are centered around one idea: referrals. With the other awards Worcester Business Journal gives out annually, such as 40 Under Forty, Business Leaders of the Year, or Outstanding Women in Business, the winners go through a nomination process and are selected by a vetted panel of judges. In January, Sherborn-based golf course developer WedgeLinks proposed building a nine-hole, par-3 golf course on a 31-acre lot close to the Staples’ world headquarters in Framingham. Nine-hole golf courses have become increasingly popular in the U.S., especially post-2020 when the sport saw a surge in new players. More golfers are opting for shorter games, cutting the four hours it typically takes to put an 18-hole game in half.
