Westborough-based IT solutions provider ZehnTek has acquired fellow cloud strategy firm BossNine Technologies, headquartered in Maynard, whose founder will assume the role of CEO of the conglomerate.

Completed on Feb. 16, ZehnTek’s newest acquisition includes BossNine’s Pantek brand, a Maynard-based IT strategy company. The purchase will bolster ZehnTek’s resources while expanding its enterprise networking, infrastructure security, and cloud services to more customers throughout the U.S., according to a Tuesday press release from ZehnTek.

With the acquisition, BossNine Founder Bill Fistori will become CEO of ZehnTek while the firm’s previous leader, Andrew Hoffmann, will move onto the roles of chairman of the board and president.

ZehnTek did not respond to WBJ’s inquiry regarding the acquisition’s purchase price.

"The increasing complexity of hybrid IT environments requires expertise across multiple platforms, from on premises to cloud to edge computing," Hoffmann said in the release. "With BossNine Technologies and Pantek, we’re combining deep knowledge across both Windows and Linux ecosystems, enhancing security, scalability, and reliability for our clients. Together, we can tackle even the most challenging IT problems, from cloud migrations and compliance to cybersecurity and infrastructure modernization."

Before the acquisition, ZehnTek had three employees and $12 million in annual revenue, according to data the firm provided to the WBJ Research Department in 2024.

The acquisition will support ZehnTek’s four key initiatives: hybrid IT knowledge including combining Microsoft Windows, Linux, Amazon Web Services, and enterprise networking; security and compliance by strengthening security postures; increase managed scalable IT services; and technical and financial resources with a more capable team.

"This is a transformational step for both of our companies," Fistori said in the release. "Businesses today face an evolving threat landscape and increasingly complex technology requirements. Together, we offer a single, powerful resource to help them navigate this new reality."
