Workhuman, the unicorn tech company based in Framingham specializing in human resources software, has named Mark Schwartz as the company’s new CFO.
Schwartz, who has experience leading companies through the public listing process, has been brought in to guide the company’s legal and financial functions as it seeks to further expand its customer base, according to a Thursday press release from Workhuman, which has a second headquarters in Dublin, Ireland.
Founded in Dublin in 1999 as Globoforce, the company rebranded to Workhuman in 2019. In 2020, the company announced that its value surpassed the $1-billion mark, making the company a so-called unicorn.
“Mark brings an incredible range of experience and perspective to the table as an executive at venture-backed startups through fully-fledged public organizations,” Eric Mosley, Workhuman founder and CEO, said in the press release. “As we continue to scale and invest in innovation, Mark has the process knowledge needed to help navigate the waters and chart the course for sustainable, scalable growth.”
A former attorney, Schwartz’s experience includes working as a CFO for Trax, a Singapore-based software company; Markforged, an additive manufacturing company based in Waltham; and Fabrinet, a Thailand-based disk drive manufacturer. Both Markforged and Fabrinet transitioned to being publicly traded under his watch.
“At Workhuman, I see a group of people who care deeply about what they do and are ready to forge ahead into the next iteration of the company,” Schwartz said. “I look forward to charting the course for the next phase of Workhuman’s journey and reach our full scope of potential as a market leader.”
Schwartz replaces Scott Dussault, who served as Workhuman’s CFO from 2021 to 2023 before leaving in June to serve as the CFO for Vectra AI, a California-based cybersecurity company, according to Dussault’s LinkedIn profile.
