Clark University in Worcester has been awarded $27 million from the U.S. Department of Labor to expand information-technology apprenticeship programs.

The school blamed enrollment declines across almost all of its programs over the last several years for its collapse, having suffered four straight years of operating losses amid the loss of COVID-related grants and weaker investment returns. 

Clark becomes the second Central Massachusetts college to join the partnership network to help community college students obtain an affordable bachelor’s degree.

The change will be effective Wednesday.

The Trustees of Clark University in Worcester have sold for $1.8 million two 19th-century residences the school had been using as offices. 

After its closure in May, the campus of Anna Maria College in Paxton has been listed for sale, with Worcester-based Kelleher & Sadowsky Associates selected as the property’s listing broker.
