Worcester To Break Ground On Homeless Center

As part of a citywide plan to curb homelessness, a permanent triage and assessment center for those in need will be opening in Worcester.

A groundbreaking ceremony for construction of the 13,000-square-foot facility will be hosted by the South Middlesex Opportunity Council and the City of Worcester on Wednesday.

According to city officials, the facility will be the centerpiece for efforts to assist those in need of housing and outreach. Located at 25 Queen St., it will have 40 beds and parking for 20 vehicles.

Details of the project will be released at the groundbreaking.
