A group of five entrepreneurs, including local restaurateur Weidong “Wilson” Wang, are planning a cannabis cultivation and retail facility at the 360-acre Hardwick farm they bought in September.
Under the name Zen Acres Farm, the group will present plans for the facility at a community outreach meeting on April 14, according to a document released by the Town.
Zen Acres Farm intends to apply for a license to operate a marijuana cultivator, a product manufacturer, and retailer at the farm at 228 Barre Road in Hardwick, which was formerly known as Great Meadowbrook Farm.
A limited liability corporation registered to Haijian Deng, Timothy Guo, Fuwei Wu, Laurel Xie, and Wang bought the expansive farm for $2.6 million in September. The property included a 3,400-square-foot home and a 14,000-square-foot renovated milking barn at the time of the purchase.
Wang has purchased several properties in the last year throughout Central Massachusetts. He owns sushi chain Baba Sushi and plans to open an Italian-Greek-Japanese fusion restaurant in Bolton.
Separately, another cannabis facility is planned for a former mill on Main Street in Hardwick. Developer George Lang proposed a 113,000-square-foot cultivation facility at a community outreach meeting last April.
