The 360-acre Great Meadowbrook Farm in Hardwick sold for $2.6 million, according to the Worcester South District Registry of Deeds. It was bought by a firm registered to five managers, one of whom is Weidong “Wilson” Wang, owner of Baba Sushi in Worcester.
In a deal closing Sept. 29, the property was sold by Erik Fleming and Torrance Watkins, who are trustees of the Great Meadowbrook Realty Trust, per the deed. They sold to 228 Barre LLC, which is registered to Haijian Deng, Timothy Guo, Fuwei Wu, Laurel Xie, and Weidong Wang at 309 Park Ave. in Worcester, the primary location of Baba Sushi.
Baba Sushi also has locations in Sturbridge and Bristol, according to its website. Wang owns a hot pot joint on Park Avenue in Worcester called Chuan Shabu. Wang was unavailable for immediate comment on Wednesday.
Located at 228 Barre Road in Hardwick, Great Meadowbrook is within an agricultural zoning district, making it subject to some agricultural preservation restrictions, according to a report from LandVest, the Boston-based real estate company which listed the property for sale.
It was listed for $2.69 million and assessed by the Town of Hardwick in 2019 at $748,800, according to the LandVest report.
The property includes a 3,390-square-foot home built in 1910, a 1,344-square-foot caretaker’s house, and a 14,000-square-foot renovated milking barn.
