The Worcester housing market has been ranked among the most affordable in the state, according to a home listing report from Coldwell Banker Real Estate.
The housing report ranks the affordability of communities’ housing based on listings of four-bedroom, two bathroom homes throughout over 2,700 markets in the country. While other reports rank the median cost of homes, this reports methodology gives a picture of what a similar home costs in each community.
New Bedford was found to be the most affordable in Massachusetts, at $164,723, while Worcester was ranked eighth with an average price of $240,889. Both of these are in stark contrast to the most expensive market, Cambridge, where an equivalent home would cost an average of $1,106,991.
