Webster plaza sold for $5.3M to car dealer

Webster Plaza, a two-building, 70,600-square-foot retail strip in Webster, sold for $5.3 million, according to a Thursday press release from NAI Glickman Kovago & Jacobs, the Worcester real estate agency which brokered the sale.

The property at 70 Worcester Road, which sold for $3.4 million, spans 57,000 square feet and was formerly a Shaw’s supermarket. The second building, 84 Worcester Road, is a 13,600-square-foot retail strip and sold for over $1.9 million.

The outdoor shopping mall is home to several chain stores, as well as The Vault cannabis dispensary, which opened its flagship Webster location in February 2021.

The buyer was Lundgren Equity Partners LLC, which is registered to Barry Lundgren at the address of Lundgren Honda of Auburn. Lundgren is the owner of the Auburn-based car dealership, as well as an aggressive real estate player in Central Massachusetts.

In the last 12 months, he has purchased a $5-million office building in downtown Worcester and a $7.9-million land parcel on Grove and Chadwick Streets, also in Worcester.

The property was sold by an entity registered to Namdar Realty, a real estate investment firm based in Great Neck, N.Y. The plaza is assessed by the Town of Webster at over $3.3 million, according to the assessors’ database.
