WBJ Talk Back in the September 28, 2009 Issue

“Not surprised about this survey. Companies continue to give lip service (pun not really intended) to communicating with their employees. In regard to the survey, more communication is NOT necessarily better communication, and therefore ‘more’ becomes less. What I’ve seen is the continuing reluctance on senior management’s part to engage employees in discussion about issues important to staff, not just to corporate goals.”

Robert Carnegie on a WBJ Daily Report item about the quantity and quality of communication between executives and employees.

“Address it now he says. Isn’t it oh so typical for government to shove laws down the public’s collective throat without asking them what it really wants. On this issue, government has determined our needs by working with lobbyists ‘to work out a deal.’ Doesn’t that smell like a sellout — again?”

Will W. W. in reaction to an op-ed from Rep. Jim McGovern, D-Worcester, supporting health care reform.

“I thought Chronicle’s piece on Worcester was very positive and realistic. It was really well done.”

Jennifer O’Meara commenting on a LinkedIn discussion about a recent profile of Worcester on the WCVB program Chronicle.
