Worcester Business Journal announced on Friday that Staff Writer Laura Finaldi has taken over as the publication's healthcare reporter while new hire John McIntyre will serve as the manufacturing reporter.
McIntyre, who started in his position on Thursday, most recently served as senior analyst at BPO Media, covering the digital printing and imaging industry for two of its publications. McIntyre brings a long professional history of working for small and large manufacturers in the technology sector, including domestic and multinational makers. His previous roles included managing editor at Lyra Research, marketing manager at Samsung Electronics, director of market research for Infotrends, and director of marketing for NEC Technologies.
"John has a wealth of experience in both the publishing and manufacturing industries, which will serve our readers well as we expand our coverage of Central Massachusetts manufacturers," WBJ Editor Brad Kane said.
McIntyre will also cover the technology industry for WBJ. He can be reached at jmcintyre@wbjournal.com and 508-755-8004 x279.
Finaldi, who started as a WBJ staff writer in December, will take over permanent coverage of the healthcare industry beat effective immediately. She has served in that capacity on a temporary basis since January, filling in for Emily Micucci, who left on maternity leave and has since shifted into a contributor role for WBJ.
"Laura has been an all-star since she started here, and WBJ readers can expect the same thorough and thoughtful coverage of the healthcare industry under her direction," Kane said.
Finaldi will serve as the senior writer for the quarterly magazine Central Mass. HEALTH. For WBJ, she will also continue to cover the higher education, finance, energy and nonprofit beats. She can be reached at lfinaldi@wbjournal.com and 508-755-8004 ext. 237.
