Waters Funds Clinical Chemistry Fellowship
Milford-based Waters Corp. announced it will fund a new, two-year postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine.
Waters, which specializes in technologies for health care and environmental safety, said the Clinical Chemistry Fellows will be trained in clinical chemistry, laboratory administration and research practices to prepare them for directorship positions at medical schools or hospital-based clinical chemistry laboratories.
The funding provided by Waters will cover salary and research expenses for fellows as they learn the foundations of classical chemistry, as well as clinical toxicology and molecular diagnostics. Waters said fellows will work with the California Poison Control Center and the UC San Diego Medical Toxicology Fellowship program, with the ultimate goal of preparing participants for certification by the American Board of Clinical Chemistry.
