Valpey-Fisher tunes in 3Q earnings gains

Hopkinton-based Valpey-Fisher Corp., a manufacturer of frequency control devices and tuners, reported a 31 percent gain in revenues for the third quarter of 2007 compared to last year.

The company reported revenues of $1,398,000 for the third quarter, up from $1,062,000 last year. Year-to-date, the company stands at just over $4 million in revenues, up from $3.1 million last year.

Net earnings of $343,000 represented a 350 percent increase over the $98,000 reported in the third quarter of 2006.

The company attributed its revenue gains to increased sales of its more profitable high-precision frequency oscillators. Year-to-date, new orders for the company's products were up more than 10 percent compared to last year, the company said.
