Tech Marketing Budgets Expected To Rise in ’12

Two-thirds of technology marketers expect to increase their budgets next year, according to a report by Framingham-based technology research firm IDG.

More than half of spending by technology marketers will be on demand generation. In a recent survey on spending prediction in 2012, 58 percent of industry professionals noted that category. Another 42 percent said money will be spent on branding while 24 percent plan to spend on events.

Two-thirds of respondents also noted that they plan to outsource at least some of the marketing work, especially in the fields of content creation, creative development, advertising design and online production.
