Workers Credit Union has named Sandesh Parulekar as the Littleton-based institution’s new chief information officer.
Assuming his new role, Parulekar will focus on integrating artificial intelligence to enhance both member and employee experiences. He will work to ensure WCU’s technology supports its business goals, creating and implementing the credit union’s digital transformation strategy, according to a Tuesday press release.
“We are thrilled to welcome Sandesh to our team,” Jay Champion, president and CEO of WCU, said in the release. “His extensive experience and forward-thinking approach to technology will be invaluable as we continue to enhance our digital capabilities and provide exceptional service to our members.”
Parulekar replaces Joanne White, who had been with the credit union since 2016, according to her LinkedIn profile.
Parulekar comes to Workers having most recently spent four and a half years holding a number of roles at Digital Federal Credit Union in Marlborough. While serving as DCU’s vice president of engineering, he worked to develop its AI and machine learning capacities while executing automation and business process management to optimize back-office operations.
Parulekar earned his bachelor’s degree from Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute in Mumbai, India and his master’s degree from Boston University.
With $2.6 billion in assets as of March 31, 2024, Workers Credit Union is the second largest credit union in Central Massachusetts when ranked by total assets, according to data gathered by WBJ’s Research Department. The largest credit union in the region is DCU.
