Tax Adjustment

Worcester Mayor Joseph O’Brien has expressed support for a proposal that would raise the state’s income tax rate from 5.3 percent to 5.95 percent while raising the personal tax exemption and increasing taxes on dividends and interest. The result would be a tax increase for people making more than $62,000 a year, and a decrease for those making less.
