State: Jobless Rates Inch Down In Most Labor Markets

Jobless rates in 20 of the commonwealth's 22 labor markets decreased in February compared to the prior month, according to the state Office of Labor and Workforce Development.
The statewide unemployment rate decreased from 10.4 percent to 10 percent over the same period of time. It was up from 8.1 percent a year ago.
Adjusted for seasonal variations, the state's unemployment rate was 9.5 percent, the same as the rate recorded for January.
Between January and February, the state gained 1,500 jobs.
