Hopkinton-based Solect Energy has secured a contract to install a 537-kilowatt solar energy system on the roof of a Brockton company’s building, Solect announced Friday.
JLS Mailing Services, which is a presort mailing and printing company, requires a great deal of energy. The project on the roof of the company’s Brockton location is expected to save the company $93,000 annually on its bill. The project will also be eligible for state and federal tax and financial incentives, including SRECs (Solar Renewable Energy Certificates), which are financial incentives based on the amount of solar energy the system generates.
At JLS, this system will be combined with ongoing energy-efficiency efforts that have already helped save 8 percent on electricity costs.
Solect has installed more than 32 megawatts of solar systems.
