Sole-ful Event Planning In Marlborough
Shoes, shoes and more shoes will be theme for the Marlborough Regional Chamber of Commerce's 85th Birthday Party & Anniversary Celebration from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 25 at the Marlborough Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites on Route 20.
"We're putting our best foot forward for charity," said Suzanne Morreale-Leeber, the chamber's president and CEO. Everyone is encouraged to bring in new shoes in that will be donated to local organizations, she said. The event theme was selected because of Marlborough's historical ties to the shoe industry.
There will also be a shoe contest, with prizes for the oldest, the most unusual and other categories, and a vote on the best shoe-themed centerpieces.
The party includes dinner, birthday cake and dancing to a swing band, she said.
