Framingham-based SCIEX said it has signed an exclusive co-marketing agreement with Pressure BioSciences Inc. of Easton, which the company said will help it address challenges in complex sample preparation.
The two companies will market a system that will increase the depth, breadth and reproducibility of protein extraction, digestion and quantitation in all sample types, including challenging samples like tumors, SCIEX said.
SCIEX said scientists will be able to extract more proteins from complex sample types because of the companies’ focus on improved sample preparation, which may lead to more biological discoveries.
“This should increase the chance for biomarker discovery, potentially leading to significant improvements in health care, including personalized medicine,” said Reudi Aebersold, one of the scientists who developed PCT-HD, a sample preparation system that will be promoted under the agreement.
