Music education franchise School of Rock aims to open a new location at shopping center Northborough Crossing in late 2023 or early 2024.
The school will occupy a 3,000-square-foot space in the development’s outparcel pad building, according to a Thursday press release from developer and property manager Capital Group Properties, of Southborough.
School of Rock has seven Massachusetts locations, including one in Natick.
Elsewhere in the plaza, custom golf equipment firm Club Champion opened at the plaza in mid-August, according to the press release.
The developer has embraced a strategy of diversifying its tenants at the retail development with Saint Vincent’s Medical Group, Pure Barre, and Code Ninjas in addition to major anchor stores and restaurants.
Also at the site is a 375-unit luxury residential community, Avalon Northborough.
Retail development owners and managers have been embracing tenants beyond traditional retail stores to fill plazas and malls, looking to medical offices, activity spaces, and even pickleball centers.
