RCAP Solutions, a Gardner-based community development corporation, will relocate its headquarters to Worcester, a move officials from the nonprofit said is designed to better serve clients, according to a statement release Friday.
The nonprofit will begin moving into its new headquarters at 12 East St. in Worcester in November. It is part of a long-term plan to respond to increasing demand for services, which include affordable housing assistance, small business and residential loans, workforce development, education and training.
RCAP, founded in 1969, has run a satellite office on Madison Street in Worcester for 25 years, but that will close and the staff and services located there will move to East Street in November.
About 40 staff members will move into the 6,400-square-foot offices.
"We are doing all we can to keep our administrative costs as low as possible, and this space proved to be the most affordable option that will best meet the needs of our staff and constituents," said Karen A. Koller, president and CEO of RCAP.
The demand for all types of services offered by RCAP is always increasing, according to Koller, and with its headquarters in Worcester, the organization will be in closer contact with the people and businesses it serves.
"This expansion allows for a more focused and centralized system to meet the growth of the region and the capacity that RCAP brings to the city," Koller said.
