Poll: Americans Still Not Secure

The economy may be in recovery, but only one in five Americans feels more secure about their financial situation now than they did a year ago.

That's according to a poll by Harris Interactive conducted in early December.

The poll found that about 42 percent of respondents feel less secure now than last year.

Still, the results are an improvement from last year, when 56 percent said their financial situation had become less secure over the year.

Forty-five percent said they expect the economy to stay the same over the coming year, while 29 percent anticipate an improvement and 26 percent expect things to get worse. About half said they'll cut back on household spending in 2011.

A whopping 63 percent also said the job market in their region of the country is bad.
