The University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester has hired Deborah L. Plummer as associate vice chancellor for diversity and equal opportunity.
Plummer previously served as chief diversity officer at Cleveland Clinic, where she developed training programs on diversity and cultural competence and promoted the hiring of staff from underrepresented groups.
Plummer has a doctorate from Kent State University and is a licensed psychologist.
She will begin her new job on Feb. 22.
