The program also provides new and gently used winter coats, hats, gloves, and scarves to homeless, struggling, and displaced children and adults. Photo/Courtesy Barre Savings Bank entered the world of Facebook on a charitable note, offering to donate $2 to the Quabbin Education Foundation for Students & Teachers and the Wachusett Regional School District for each person who signed up as a fan of the bank, up to $1,000. The drive came up 41 fans shy of the 500-person goal, but the bank donated the full $1,000 anyway ($500 to each organization). The funds will help the two organizations meet their technology needs.
