Judged on both academic and extracurricular achievements, five graduating high school students received $1,000 scholarships. The scholarship winners included: Dores Bounphasaysonh of Southbridge High School; Alison Kane of Tantasqua Regional High School in Fiskdale; Scott Ijams and Vanessa Lee Kent of Shepherd Hill Regional High School in Dudley and Kyrie S. Photo/Courtesy Leominster Credit Union (LCU) partnered with The Exchange Club of Clinton in a “Trees for Tots” program, celebrating Arbor Day. LCU, a nonprofit financial cooperative founded in 1954, and The Exchange Club, a nationwide organization chartered in 1946, came together to distribute more than 200 saplings to first grade students at Clinton Elementary School and the entire student body of St. Mary Elementary School. The organization reaches out to those who have suffered limb loss in order to provide the community with information and friendship through shared experience. Photo/Courtesy Rollstone Bank & Trust of Fitchburg recently donated $5,000 to the Community Foundation of North Central Massachusetts. The Community Foundation is a local nonprofit that assists 33 cities and towns by looking for ways to further build charitable giving. Delia Vetter, chairperson of the United Way of Tri-County's board of directors, recognized Morreale-Leeber for her continuous dedication to the United Way, improving communities and inspiring others to service.
