The lessons and information from the tour coincided with the students' lessons in earth science, math, and technology and engineering classes. Some of the nearly 300 students that visited the company over the two-day field trip program are pictured above.
PHOTO/COURTESY At the Greendale Mall, children learned about doctor visits, hospital emergency rooms and general safety tips and rules at a recent Teddy Bear Clinic sponsored by UMass Memorial Medical Center of Worcester. The clinic allowed children to bring their favorite stuffed animal or doll for a “check-up,” which prepared them for the kind of check-ups they are likely to have when they go to see a doctor. Parents on hand also had the opportunity to learn about physicians at UMass Memorial Medical Center, as well as pediatric information. Pictured are some of the clinic's visitors creating “band-aid art.”
