The Worcester retail store Percy's TV & Appliance has paid more than $2.2 million to buy its Auburn warehouse.
Alan Lavine, the Percy's vice president, said the store began renting the warehouse at 16 Millbury St. in Auburn five years ago because it needed the additional space. Now, with business doing well, the store chose to buy the property.
"We've been fortunate," Lavine said.
The deal, which closed Jan. 28, gives Percy's a 1.5-acre site with a 30,000-square-foot building where the retailer has a distribution center. Percy's, through a limited liability firm registered to principals Alan and David Lavine, bought the site from a limited liability corporation registered to principals at the Worcester commercial real estate firm Glickman, Kovago & Jacobs.
The site at 16 Millbury St. last sold in 2015 for $750,000. It is assessed by the Town of Auburn at just over $1.8 million.
