More than two years after the entertainment club Jillian's closed its Worcester location, an O'Reilly Auto Parts is slated to take its place.
The Grove Street location has been empty since May 2017, with renovations underway to turn it into an auto parts store to be the third Worcester location for the Missouri-based O'Reilly chain.
Jillian's, a bar with an arcade and billiards, closed after what the club said in a message to patrons was a change in ownership. The message alluded to a new club opening elsewhere in the city, which ended up being Shooters Bar & Billiards at 70 James St.
O'Reilly Auto Parts will open on a stretch of Grove Street undertaking retail change with the Trolley Yard plaza replacing a former WRTA facility with a Starbucks, Chipotle and others, and a medical office building across the street to include a Fallon Health elder care center.
