Nurses in Central Massachusetts are joining in a nationwide push tomorrow for a tax on Wall Street firms over the nation’s recent financial and economic woes.
Local nurses will hold a press conference Thursday at 11:30 a.m. outside Worcester City Hall. They will be joined by local officials, including Mayor Joseph O’Brien. The event is part of a National Day of Action in which nurses will press Congressmen to support a national tax on financial transactions that organizers say led to the 2008 economic problems. Those transactions include the trading of stocks and bonds, plus credit default swaps.
