Nurse-Patient Ratios
The nurses at Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester are planning a strike this Friday over proposed nurse-patient ratios. The nurses say new ratios, including a general rule that nurses shouldn't have more than four patients at once, would improve safety. The hospital argues it's better for managers to have leeway to adjust staffing as they see fit. In this week's WBJ Online Readers' Poll, we'd like to know if you think the new ratios are a good idea.
