New Culture, Tech Worries New Hires

Workers reentering the workforce after an extended jobless period are concerned about adapting to a new corporate culture and learning new technology, according to results of an OfficeTeam survey.

Unemployed workers have found that a job search can take as much as a year, making reentering the workforce nerve wracking.

The OfficeTeam survey asked workers if they were unemployed for more than six months, what would be the greatest challenge to starting a new job.

A third of respondents said adapting to a new corporate culture would be most challenging. Nearly a quarter said learning new technology and protocols and slightly more than 20 percent said adapting to a new schedule and routine would be most difficult.

OfficeTeam is a temporary staffing agency that focuses on administrative positions.
