National Dentex Corp. of Natick reported a first quarter profit increase of 22.5 percent even as sales dipped by 5.2 percent.
The dental laboratory operator said cost cutting in production, operations, sales and personnel enabled that trend. The company said its profit for the quarter was $2.1 million compared to $1.7 million for the same period the prior year.
Sales for the quarter were $41.3 million compared to $43.5 million a year earlier.
