Michael P. Angelini
Michael P. Angelini holds sway over Central Massachusetts in countless ways. He is chairman of one of its largest law firms, Bowditch & Dewey. He is chairman of the Massachusetts Port Authority and director at both Commerce Bank and the UMass Medical Center Foundation.
In 2016, perhaps his largest influence on the region will be in his role as chairman of Hanover Insurance, where he will play a significant role in choosing a successor to Frederick H. Eppinger, who himself is a titan of industry and community in Central Massachusetts as the company's president and CEO.
Angelini also must help find a new Hanover chief financial officer, after the unexpected death of David Greenfield in October. With Eppinger's replacement set to be in place by the middle of the year and the new CFO sometime in the spring, Angelini's decisions over the next several months will shape the executive suite of Worcester's largest employer outside of the healthcare sector.
