The Massachusetts Health and Hospital Association (MHA) on Tuesday issued a statement decrying the U.S. Senate procedural vote yesterday, allowing lawmakers to begin the debate on repealing and replacing the Affordable Care Act.
The statement from the hospital industry group noted the Massachusetts delegation is united in opposing a repeal, but said Massachusetts has much to lose if a repeal proceeds.
“MHA and our members are extremely distressed by today’s disturbing vote in the US Senate to advance GOP healthcare amendments that contain shockingly few details other than an ill-considered effort to tear down the advances of the Affordable Care Act and leave millions of Americans without health insurance,” said Lynn Nicholas, president and CEO of MHA.
