W. Patrick Hughes President & CEO, Fallon Community Health Plan
W. Patrick Hughes was named president and CEO of Worcester-based Fallon Community Health Plan in April. Hughes initially joined FCHP in 2007 as senior vice president and chief marketing and sales officer. That same year he was also named president of FCHP’s health plan operations division. Before joining FCHP, Hughes served as president and CEO of W.P. Hughes and Co., a consulting and brokerage firm he founded in New Hampshire. Prior to founding his own company, Hughes was senior vice president of sales, marketing and product development for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts. He is a native of Everett and a 10-year veteran of the National Football League.
Peter R. Allen Counselor, SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives), Worcester Region
Peter R. Allen has been a counselor with SCORE, working out of the Corridor Nine Chamber of Commerce office in Westborough, since 2003. SCORE is a national nonprofit that offers free business advice to entrepreneurs and business owners. A resident of Westborough, Allen also runs Peter Allen Consulting, with a focus on the health care industry. His career background includes 13 years at Muro Pharmaceutical Inc. of Tewksbury where he served in a variety of marketing roles including director of business development. Allen holds an MBA from the Tuck School of Business.
David Jordan President & CEO, Seven Hills Foundation
David Jordan has served as president & CEO of Seven Hills Foundation of Worcester since July 1995. Jordan has more than 30 years experience in rehabilitation, education, and health care management. He holds several college degrees including a master’s from Clark University and a doctorate in health administration from the Medical University of South Carolina. Since 2003, he has served as an adjunct professor at Clark University.
The Ahearns Ahearn Equipment
Tim and Donna Ahearn, along with their sons, Josh and Jeremy, run Ahearn Equipment in Spencer. They were selected as 2009 Central Mass. Family Business Award winners. Tim Ahearn founded the company more than 30 years ago in the family’s basement in North Brookfield. The business eventually expanded to a building on the family property, and later to a facility on Route 9 in Spencer.
David Dunn Dunn & Co.
David Dunn founded Dunn & Co. of Clinton in 1976 after working in the book printing industry for nearly 20 years. The business, which focuses primarily on book binding, got its start in a barn and is housed today in a facility at 75 Green St. His extended family, including his wife and children, now help manage the business. Dunn & Co. was a winner of the 2009 Central Mass. Family Business Awards.
