Maynard firm secures $12.6M design-build contract

JM Coull has been contracted to build 33,000-square-foot fine arts center and gymnasium at the Whitinsville Christian School.
The Maynard firm of JM Coull (JMC) has secured a $12.6 million contract to design and build a new 33,000-square-foot fine arts center and gymnasium at the Whitinsville Christian School (WCS).
The project includes a 10,000-square-foot addition to be built over the existing pre-school that will be connected to the new facility via an enclosed bridge, according to JMC. The new construction will include a performing arts theater with a stage, seating, curtain system, lighting, and audiovisual systems, and the gym will feature multiple basketball courts, scoreboards, bleachers, locker rooms, athletic equipment, a training room, and a multipurpose room.
JMC is partnering with design firm Dixon Salo Architects of Worcester, as well as acoustical consultant Acentech Studio A of Cambridge and theater design specialist Nextstage Design of New Haven, Conn.
