The average price for a gallon of gasoline is up 18 cents in Massachusetts, compared to a month ago, according to a report from travel association AAA Northeast.
The current average price per gallon is $2.39, compared to $2.21 at the beginning of the new year.
That price is also three cents higher than a week ago, when the average price for a gallon was $2.36, according to AAA.
"While prices locally are still cheaper than this time in 2020, that extra pocket change is quickly going to dwindle thanks to rising crude oil prices that have made for more expensive pump prices,” said Mary Maguire, AAA Northeast director of public and government affairs, in a press release.
The average price as of Monday was still 15 cents lower than a year prior, when the average price per gallon was $2.54.
