Job Seeker Survey: Networking Is The Way To Go

Good old-fashioned face-to-face networking is still how most people find new employment, according to a recent survey by the job placement firm Right Management.

The survey of more than 6,000 job seekers in the Northeast found that 45 percent of people found new jobs in 2010 through traditional person-to-person networking. That's down two percentage points from 2009 and flat with 2008.

Nearly 20 percent of people said they found work through an Internet job board. That's up from 16 percent in 2008.

Just 6 percent of respondents cited online networks as the successful method for finding work.
