• The Connecticut Shingo Prize for Excellence in Manufacturing was presented to three recipients recognized for business excellence with high standards and quality. HID Global received the 2007 Connecticut Gold Shingo Prize, GyrusACMI received the Bronze Shingo Prize, and ASML received a Bronze Shingo Prize.

William B. Meyer Inc. received a bronze medal for record storage in a Connecticut Law Tribune readers’ poll. The company was judged as the best providers of services and goods to the legal profession.

• The Housatonic Community College Foundation Inc. received a $61,048 grant from Connecticut Health and Facilities Authority. The fund will support the hiring of a coordinator for the High School Bridges program.

Roger Therrien, director of the Connecticut Department of Labor’s Office of Research, was selected as the 2007 recipient of the Vladimir Chavrid LMI award from the National Association of State Workforce Agencies. Therrien was chosen for making extensive contributions to the program, demonstrating project leadership, and showing commitment to activities that support the advancement of labor market information.
