In the week ending Jan. 3, 467,000 Americans filed claims for unemployment benefits for the first time, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.
That’s a decrease of 24,000 from the previous week’s revised figure of 491,000. The 4-week moving average was 525,750, a decrease of 27,000 from the previous week.
