IDC Sees Superconductor Growth

Framingham market intelligence company International Data Corp. says semiconductor revenues will rise more than 25 percent over the next four years.

IDC predicts global revenues from the products to hit $274 billion by the end of this year and rise to $344 billion in 2014. The company predicts especially high growth in superconductor use in the computing industry and in the industrial, military, aero and automotive industry. Some of the factors contributing to that growth are mobile PC applications, alternative energy and increased use of semiconductors in cars.
