HVAC scam gets burned
Settlements have been reached with two defendants involved in illegal bid rigging across the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) industry over the last several years, announced Attorney General Richard Blumenthal today. John J. Haggett, former president of B-G Mechanical Services Inc. will pay the state a $70,000 penalty and Christopher Link, president and owner of Link Mechanical Services Inc. will pay a $90,000 penalty to the state. A number of consumers wronged by the ploy include Connecticut Transit, the State of Connecticut and Vernon Waste Water Pollution Control Authorities.
