Plastic Molding Manufacturing of Hudson has purchased Connecticut plastics manufacturer Phillips-Moldex Co.

Financial terms of the deal and the number of employees impacted were not disclosed. The agreement did not include the facility.

Plastic Molding CEO George Danis said the newest acquisition will continue the company's U.S. growth.

Phillips-Moldex, of Putnam, Conn., is a plastic-injection molder serving the automotive, medical, industrial, and electronics industries. Founded in 1958, the company said it operates 24 hours a day, 5 days a week, with 22 injection presses, and has in-house tool building, along with automation and engineering expertise.

In addition to its Hudson headquarters, Plastic Molding has plants in Berlin, Conn., Lancaster, Pa., and South Bend, Ind.

Plastic Molding Manufacturing said it offers customers more than 100 injection molding machines, and a certified cleanroom. The company said it develops sustainable and advanced plastic molding solutions.

Fair points. Make sure you live by what you preach though. Next time you're in the hospital for emergency care, tell them not to use any plastic products for your recovery. I've been hearing good things about those wood and metal IV tubes.

Plastic is so yesterday. It is made from fossil fuel ...oil. Plastic junk is gathering in our oceans and killing the ecosystem. A big floating island the size of Rhode Island is now in the Pacific ocean. Humans are going to have to ditch and outlaw plastic to avoid going extinct from climate change. This acquisition is nothing to celebrate...it's a very poor business decision.
