Hourly Employees Cheat Sheets

The results of a survey commissioned by Chelmsford-based Kronos Inc. conclude that 21 percent of hourly workers have cheated on their time sheets.

Of those who admitted to padding their time sheets, 69 percent said they either punched in earlier or later than scheduled. Another 14 percent said they don't punch out for unpaid lunches or breaks and five percent said they have coworkers punch in or punch out for them.

About 35 percent of respondents said their employers use paper timesheets to keep track of hourly employees' time.

Kronos' Workforce Institute commissioned the survey, which was conducted by Harris Interactive. Kronos provides workforce management automation systems.
