In the final step of an affiliation that began two decades ago, Gardner-based Heritage Insurance Agency is changing its name to the Insurance Center of New England (ICNE).
The name change takes effect March 1.
Heritage has been a subsidiary of Agawam-based ICNE since 1991. For the last several years, it has also shared communications and computer systems with the larger company.
ICNE said the change will make the company more efficient by using only one brand and logo. But the firm said all staff will remain at Heritage and there will be no other changes to customers' experience there.
Heritage has offices in Gardner and Winchendon and inside the Workers' Credit Union branches in Orange and Fitchburg. ICNE has additional locations in Lowell, Danvers, Haverhill and East Longmeadow.
