The executives of two Greater Boston financial firms have purchased an 18-unit brick apartment building in Worcester's Main South neighborhood for $1.55 million.
The building at 24 Charlton St. was purchased on Oct. 1 by M Jemms Worcester I LLC, a corporation registered to Frank Lallos of Chelmsford and Peter Fondini of Burlington.
Lallos is the senior vice president of operations for Woburn recordkeeping firm NRS, and Fondini is the vice president of finance for Burlington payment processing firm AliasWire.
The seller of the Main South building is listed as Henry Van Nguyen, who purchased the building from Ifeanyi Menkiti for $835,000 in 2017.
Menkiti, a Wellesley College professor, had purchased several buildings downtown -- including the former Shack's building on Main Street -- and with his son had a vision of remaking the Main Street corridor. The elder Menkiti died in January, and his son is still pursuing the efforts.
1.55 million for that piece of crap? Seriously? I don't know what these guys in Boston are drinking ... or smoking ... but it is not good.
