Gov. Deval Patrick is scheduled to visit Marlborough this afternoon for the groundbreaking of a wind power testing facility by Denmark-based wind turbine maker Vestas.
The company is building a 27,000-square-foot structure for research, development, testing and verification of electric power generators and converters for new kinds of turbines.
Vestas employs 34 in its R&D operations in Marlborough and Hudson now, and plans to create at least 66 full-time jobs at the new location. The company has also committed about $16 million in capital investment in the facility, which is scheduled to be completed next summer.
