The 15,400-square-foot property of Gardner Animal Care Center on Eaton Street has been sold for just over $2 million to a Pennsylvania firm.
Located on more than nine acres at 73 Eaton St., the Gardner Animal Care Center has been open since 1988. The property had been owned by the McTigue Family Trust of Ashburnham since the late 1990s.
In a deal closed Friday, the trust sold the property to an entity registered to Terravet, a Pennsylvania-based company which specializes in real estate used for veterinary purposes.
Terravet has purchased other animal hospitals in the region, most recently acquiring the Wellesley-Natick Veterinary Hospital’s property in Natick for $2.4 million in April.
The City of Gardner assesses the property at $922,100.
